REFLECTION
At our school we use iPads to do our schoolwork and homework instead of paper and pencil.Here in the U.S. education is different from Brazil because some some schools in Brazil are outside in forests but some are just regular schools.Also what they teach there is way different from what they teach here.Now that I see some people can't go to school because the school are a bit bad and some schools cost a lot of money and I'm glad to live here were school are good.
LITERACY RATES
The literacy rate in Brazil is 91.3 and the U.S. is 99.
SCHOOL
In Brazil 87.35% girls are in school and 84.1% boys are in school,compared to the U.S, there 96.1% of girls and 95.4% of boys are in school.In Brazil they have 15 years of education,and in the U.S. there 18.6 years of education.
GDP PER CAPITA
The GDP per capita in Brazil is 11346.8 and in the U.S the GDP per capita is 5116.3.
GEOGRAPHY
The closest city near Xixuaú is Manuas.There are some rivers and creeks that surround Xixuaú,like Xiparina creeks,Jauperi River,and Rio negro,etc.
It's location name is Xixuaú,Brazil ,but it has another location name,
Xixuau Xiparina Reserve,Brazil.
FUN FACTS
it takes 5 days by canoe or 30-40 hours by speed boat to travel to Manaus
Once the was "cut out from the rest of the world."They couldn't make phone calls and no electricity.There was only a small sized primary school that oferd teaching to students until 3rd grade.If they wanted more education,they had to move to Manaus.
In 2002 everything changed for them and got back there electricity, built a new school.SELF(solar electric light fund)helped them get every thing back.

The article is called "Protecting the Amazon" and it's about a village in Brazil called Xixuaú.In the article it's says the village is surrounded by the jungle and jungle animals.They can go fishing in canoes made by the people that live in the village.The article states that children that go to school learn not to throw trash in the rivers, not to kill the animals,not to cut trees,math, history,geography,and Portuguese language.Once the village was "cut out from the world".But in 2002 SELF(solar electric light fund) helped the villagers get everything back and they help build solar panels for power,new schools and have free wireless internet.
