They live in the Amazon forest between Venezuela and Brazil.

SHABONO

  • The Yanomami live in communal houses.
  • They are made of leaves, vines and tree trunks.
  • They live in big communities.

HUNTING

  • The yanomami hunt animals and go fishing.
  • They use bows and arrows for hunting, and hooks and lines for fishing.

  • They eat meat, fish and crabs.
  • They also collect wild plants to eat like peach palm.

  • When there is a feast, the men do the cooking and the women rest.
  • Every five years, the yanomami tribes move to find new land to grow food in.
