PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Your World View

There is no such thing as reality – not an actual, objective reality anyway

There is only our interpretation of reality

Our interpretation of reality creates our worldview

Our worldview is made of the filters through which we view our experience – these filters include the beliefs we hold, beliefs that help us make sense of our experiences

We can explore the particular structure of our worldview by asking ourselves specific questions about ourselves, our experiences and the world around us such as:

“Is there such a thing as chance, luck and fate? “

“Does God exist?”

“Are the spirits of those who have passed away still around”?

“Do childhood experiences affect people for life?”

“Are successful people naturally talented and gifted or do people achieve success through persistence, effort and hard-work?”

“Are the beliefs we hold ‘set in stone’ or can we change them if we want too?”

“I am a living a good life?”

The self-awareness that comes with having an inquiring mind is one of the hallmarks of what it means to be human

Our inquiring mind creates both our beliefs and our worldview

Our worldview may be empowering, positive and purposeful in which case it will serve us well or it can be disempowering, negative and unhelpful in which case it will hold us back stopping us from creating what we say we want

Our world view is also the result of the conditioning we’ve been receiving since the day we were born

Now that you know this you can question the way you ‘see’ the world and the beliefs you hold about yourself and the world

Is life constantly offering you the opportunity to learn, grow and develop or are you stuck where you are due to your upbringing?

Do you see failure as a painful, fearful experience to avoid at all costs or does failing offer invaluable lessons to learn from?

Who or what determines the course your life takes – was your life mapped out for you at birth or are you responsible for the life you live?

You can see the world through the mindset of someone who takes full responsibility for their life, a self-determined individual who is sitting firmly in the driving seat of their life

someone who feels powerful and in control or you can see the world through the mindset of a superstitious, fatalistic individual who feels powerless and out of control, someone who believes their life was mapped out for them at birth in which case there is nothing they can do about it

What do you think?

What’s your world view?
We all have one.
