  • Dreissena Polymoppha
  • Shells are "D" shaped
  • Filter polution out of water
  • Has striped patterns on it

HOW DOES IT THRIVE?

  • Age of first reproduction - 6 to 7 weeks
  • Offspring number - 30,000 to 40,000
  • Reproduce each year - 12
  • Features - Can tolerate a wide range of conditions
  • Features - Can survive out of water for 7 days

HOW DID IT ARRIVE?

  • Came from lakes in southern Russia
  • Can be transported by hiding under and along boats
  • Lake Lewisville

HOW DOES IT SURVIVE?

  • In most Texas lakes
  • Eats algae
