• A war began shortly after between the Olympians and the Titans
• b/c the children were outraged since they had been digested for decades
• The Olympians won and Zeus became the ruler of Olympia

MAJOR STORY

• Zeus ate his first wife, Metis, and her unborn child, Athena
• The fear of Metis having a boy made Zeus paranoid, so he ate her
• Zeus had an excrutiating headache, so Hephaestus split his head open
• with a wedge and Athena popped out of his skull fully grown & armored
• She was said to be Zeus's favorite child
