  • It is located in South Africa.
  • Between South Africa and Zambia.
  • It is a tropical climate.
  • There are no major bodies of water.
  • Many droughts happen in Zimbabwe

INTERSTING FACTS

  • Football, cricket,and rugby are the more popular sports in Zimbabwe
  • Zimbabwe has a tropical climate
  • They also have a rainy season that goes from november to march

  • They are landlocked.
  • Mostly high plateaus.
  • Mountains in the Eastern part.
  • The Smokey Falls named Victoria is a popular tourist attravction.
  • Life expectancy is 55 for men and 56 for women.

  • $ 4.571 billion import.
  • The unemployed rate is 95%.
  • Zimbabwe has 30 billion tons of coal.
  • The HDI is .140 in 2012 and .397 in 2014.

  • Satellites are available to people who can afford antennas
  • 6 in 10 Zimbabwean households have radios
  • 47.2% have a working television

NATURAL DISASTERS

  • Recurring droughts
  • Lots of air and water pollution
  • Mining has lead to most of the pollution
  • Mining practice also leads to most of the toxic waste
  • The infant mortality rate is 55/1000.

MILITARY

  • Ages 18-24 are allowed to serve
  • Its all voluntarily
  • Women are allowed to serve
  • 2.94% of GDP

DISEASE

  • Disease rate is really high
  • Animal contact- rabies
  • Water disease- schistosomiasis
  • Vector borne disease- malaria/dengue feaver
  • Food disease- hepatitis A

HIV/AIDS

  • 14.7% of the country has HIV/aids
  • 1,368,100 are infected with it
  • 39,500 people have died from it

MEDICAL PROBLEMS

  • Hospital density 1.7 beds/1000 population
  • Doctors and nurses are going on srtike
  • More then 100 doctors left Mpilo Central Hospital
  • Only one general surgeon is left to care for 1,037 beds

WHY WE NEED 1 BILLION DOLLARS

  • The country has lots of diseases so they need better medical tools
  • IMR has improved slowly, on track to lower deaths.
  • There needs to more doctors to treat patience with a diease.
  • HDI has encreased rapidly from 0.140 to 0.397.
  • Although our country has improved over the years with this money we can solve the major problems.
