Pancit Canton Recipe: 5 Servings

  • 1 Ib tail-off shrimp * 3 tablespoons oil
  • 3 cloves garlic * 1 onion
  • 1 head green cabbage * 2 large carrots
  • 8 ounces dry pancit canton noodles
  • 3 cups chicken stock * 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tsp. calamansi (or lime) juice to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sliced green onions
Chef Umoette and I will be in charge of the entrees, Pancit Canton. Pancit Canton is similar to your regular Lo Mein, but it is specially served during birthdays or special occasions to symbolize a long, happy life. There are 100 reservations of guests reserved at our Reservoir. Chef Umoette and I, Chef Dang, will need to prepare and gather all of the ingredients enough to make 100 servings of Pancit Canton. The things that we will need to figure out is:

* The ratio of the ingredients for each five servings to a hundred.
* The cost of each ingredient for 100 servings.
* The conversion of the ingredients and how many # of each ingredient we need in order to make 100 servings.
* The time it will take to make 100 servings.

Time to make 5 servings: 35 min.

  • Mince garlic and onion. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet. Add garlic and onion and stir-fry until soft, about 3 minutes. Add shrimp and cook, stirring frequently, until no longer translucent, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Chop cabbage and peel and grate carrot. Add another tablespoon of oil into skillet and stir fry the vegetables until tender-crisp, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
We also need to find out how much time we will need to take up for each 5 servings of the recipe. Each 5 servings takes up about 35 minutes to finish. As a result, we will need to calculate how long it will take to make 100 servings.

  • 3. In a large pot, bring chicken stock, soy sauce, and fish sauce to boil. Add pancit noodles. Boil until noodles soft, about 5 minutes. Add shrimp, vegetables to pot and stir to combine.
  • 4. Add remaining tablespoon of oil to a large skillet and add the contents of the pot. Stir fry the mixture for about 10 minutes. When most liquid has been absorbed, remove from heat and stir in calamansi juice. Top with sliced green onions.

Converting The Ingredients and Finding its Usage

Chef Umoette and I converted the ingredients of the price and measurement from the store to use it enough for the recipe. The prices are divided into the original price, and the price for 5 servings. We also found out how much servings one purchased item can make. As a result, we will then calculate how much items we will need to purchase and the total of the purchases for it to equal to 100 servings.

Up To 100 Servings of Ingredients

We have also calculated how much ingredients we need by 5, the price of all of the ingredients, and how much items we need to order depending on the things we bought on the last chart. The items are calculated by the measurement and quantity of the ingredients for 100 servings. The prices are calculated by the price for the total ingredients for five servings. Since the Pancit Canton recipe makes 5 servings, we counted the servings by five, and the ingredients were counted by how much we need in each five servings.
