you find an lava pool and a lake of water which are located by caves or in the forest. once you mix the lava with the water you start to notice the form of stone then it turns into obsidian.
first you place 5 obsidian blocks side by side and then you place 4 more block bottom to the top after you place 5 obsidian block counting the previous block of obsidian.
