PRESENTATION OUTLINE

How to survive

...The horrors of the Year 8 Rail Trail...

1. Get to bed early!

You usually end up getting up between 5am & 6am

2.take cycling pants & gloves

Trust me, your butt and hands get pretty sore!

3. keep a pace

It is easier to keep a steady pace than to speed up and slow down.

4. Take a big backpack

You have LOTS of stuff to carry around with you!

5.Wear multiple warm + light layers

You run out of room in your backpack quickly so... take light layers!

6. keep your helmet with your bike

Other wise your stuff ends up EVERYWHERE!

7. have a biking buddy

It helps to have someone biking at the same pace as you.

8. Take a windproof jacket

Trust me, when you are stopping on top of a hill you'll need it!

9. TraiN!!!!

Training before hand REALLY helps - DONT BE CAUGHT OUT!!!

10. Have fun

Even if your in the slow group have fun. Its a once in a lifetime experince
