PRESENTATION OUTLINE

GLOBAL ISSUE:

INCREASING ENERGY NEEDS

Description:
Due to depleting natural resources like fossil fuels, people must find an alternate energy source to continue the modern lives they lead today.

Causes:
Many machines depend on fossil fuels to work, and with 7 billion people and counting, fossil fuels are being drained. Cars, planes, factories, etc all depend on fossil fuels to power their engines. Fossil fuels include coal, natural gas and petroleum, and all of them can be burned to produce a lot of energy, which is why they're used as the world's primary energy source.

Effect on biosphere:
When humans alter ecosystems either by removing specific organisms, serious consequences may result. Human beings are part of the Earth’s ecosystems. Human activities can, deliberately or accidentally, change the equilibrium in ecosystems. Humans are destroying other species as a result of population growth, consumption, and technology. Human destruction of habitats through direct harvesting, pollution, atmospheric changes, and other factors is especially threatening current global biodiversity.

Possible solutions:
wind farms, solar panels, alcohol, reduce air pollution, create new jobs in industries, diversify our power supply, decrease our dependence on coals and other fossil fuels
