FIRST IVORIAN CIVIL WAR

• Started in September 19, of 2002, ended March 4, of 2004
• Started because the Muslims thought they were being discriminated against by the politically dominant Christians
• 2,000 dead 1,500 or more wounded

SECOND IVORIAN CIVIL WAR

• Started November 28, 2010, ended, April 11, 2011
• All started after a disputed election for president. People started to retaliate in the city of Abidjan.
• More and more groups or rebels started to form and that's when the government had to bring in forces like the RFCI. The RFCI launched a full scale offensive attack on the western part of the Ivory Coast

EDUCATION
Studies have shown that in 2000 only 47.8% of the population was only literate.
Due to the fact that the country faces many problems.

Al Qaeda on March 15, 2016 was drinking at a local bar in the Ivory Coast in the city of grand bassam before they unloaded rounds of ammunition at civilians, killing at least 18. Having the third major attack they have pulled in the last four months

Even though that the diamonds can be a struggle because of "blood diamonds", most still do make a profit
