Bachelor's degree in biology or related sciences
Internship or externship in the field
Masters of Science Degree in Marine Biology or Marine Science
Doctorate Degree in Marine Biology

Good observation skills
To be able to swim and scuba dive
Work independently or as a team

Salary
Average - 51,799 per year but you can make up to around 100,000

Job description
Preparing equipment, organizing other scientists and students, walking from field station to the beach, putting on scuba gear, assigning tasks, collecting and organizing animal samples underwater, placing samples in tanks, doing data analysis on the computer, experiments, tagging animal samples for data, research papers

There are jobs in Hampton roads for example in places like the Chesapeake bay or the Virginia aquarium and marine science center
