PRESENTATION OUTLINE
The Cicones
Odyssey and his men plundered Cicones until the Cicones attacked them. Odyssey and some men escaped back to ship, but lost 6 men per ship.
Lotus Eaters
The lotus eaters didn't mean any harm to Odysseus and his men, but only wanted to share their food that makes them forget about returning home.
Cyclops
The one eyed giant who trapped Odysseus and his men in his cave until they escaped from underneath the belly of the sheep.
Island of Aeolus
Aeolus, god of the winds, gives Odysseus a bag of bad winds to help him get home safely. His crew disobeyed orders and opened the bag.
Laestrygonians
Laestrygonians are giant monstrous cannibals who destroyed all of Odysseus men, and ship except Odysseus.
Island of Circe
Where Circe turns all Odysseus's men into pigs.
Land of the Dead
Odysseus seeks to learn his destiny that he would return home.
Cicre's island
Odysseus receives a warning about three obstacles he is about to face.
Circe's island
The island of Aeaea where twenty-three men go explore the island and live there for about a year. Odysseus ask Circe to help him and the men return home to Ithaca.
Sirens
Odysseus covered his men's ears with beeswax to prevent them from hearing the song of the Sirens which would cause the men from remembering why they wanted to go home.
Scylla and Charybdis
Odysseus and his men must pass between these two.
Scylla is a immortal monster with 12 legs and 6 heads and will eat a sailor for each head when a ship passes by. Charybdis is a whirlpool that will gulp the ship.
Sun god(Helios)
Odysseus's men ate the cattle even though they were told not to because they rather fight and die than to die of starvation. Helios asked Zeus if he could punish Odysseus's men by striking the boat and everyone would die except Odysseus.
Calypso's Island
After losing all of his men and ship, Odysseus floated on a raft from his ship to the island of Calypso who kept him for 7 years trying make him forget about his wife and son.
The Land of the Phaeacians
Odysseus is washed upon the beach and tell his story to the king of the Phaeacians, Alcinous.
