  • The word Marathon is derived from the Greek city Marathon

  • A toga was a linen garment worn exclusively by Roman citizens
  • Togas were thick dress like garments that were easy to provide.
  • Togas were worn by all classes of citizens, they did not signify wealth.
  • Togas were denied by foreigners.

  • The Roman council was the highest elected political Office of the Roman Republic
  • Each year to councils were elected to serve for one year.
  • Councils had very little power or authority, The Emperor withheld all power.
  • The council represented Rome's heritage.
  • Councils mainly held executive and judicial power

  • The cornucopia is a symbol of abundance and nourishment.
  • Taken from the latin word cornu copiae, meaning the horn of plenty.
  • The cornucopia is used in representation of thanksgiving.
  • It is a renowned symbol of giving.
  • The cornucopia is introduced from Greek mythology as horn Zeus broke off a bull.

  • Titans were first introduced in Greek mythology
  • They were deities that were given incredible strength by the gods.
  • Olympians overthrew the titans in a great battle for power.
  • Titans were known for their size and power.

MEA CULPA

  • Mea culpa translates to my fault.
  • Used by many to admit mistake
  • Was first used in a prayer of confession, written in Latin.
