Nomadic Society and its effects on trade.

  • There were 2 types of people: nobles and commoners
  • They basically ruled themselves because the nobles did not do anything
  • Commoners could be promoted when they showed courageous behaivior  
  • during war

Turkish military expansion

  • Khans ruled tribes through other tribes
  • They had superior equistrian skills 
  • and good military formations and fighting techniques 
  • This meant that they had a very good army

How Genghis Khan attained power

  • He made an alliance with a prominent mongol clan leader
  • Showed courage in battle
  • He betrayed a lot of people for his own goals
  • He got the Mongol empire to be one empire

Describe how the Mongols were organized politically

  • Genghis khan had complete power and he appointed people to posts. 
  • He usually chose people he thought were good for the job.

Mongolian rule under Kublai Khan.

  • He unified China
  • He sent expeditions to other parts of China
  • He divided the Mongols into 4 divisions
