The Southern Colonies
Many southern colonies were started as corporate colonies.John White started at Roanoke Island in 1590 which was the first southern colony. Then, in 1607, the Virginia Colony founded Jamestown. Other southern colonies were proprietary colonies like Maryland, and Carolina. Carolina attracted many settlers. The last southern colony was Georgia which was founded in 1733. The southern colonies had a lot of people working at farms.
