Prokaryotes

  • Lack a nucleus
  • Lack membrane-bound organelles
  • Lack a cytoskeleton
  • Smaller than 10μm
  • Are bacterial cells

Eukaryotes

  • Have a nucleus
  • Have membrane-bound organelles
  • Have a cytoskeleton
  • They are larger than 10μm
  • Make up the cells of plant and animals.

Chloroplasts

  • Conducts Photosynthesis.
  • Produces energy and oxygen.
  • Essential for cell life.
  • Works like food producers.

Nucleus

  • Nucleus is a membrane enclosed organelle found in eukaryotic cells.
  • It regulates cells activity.
  • DNA contains the information for the production of proteins.
  • Transfers genetic information.

Mitochondria

  • Is the power house of the cell.
  • Is where most of the reactions for cellular respiration occurs.
  • They act like a digestive system.
  • Contains its own DNA.
