- Establish trading relations with India.
- In 1500 he took a fleet of 13 ships south intending to travel around Africa.
- He veered westward and found land mass which he named Vera Cruz.

- He discovered Brazil.
- In 1497, he was regarded as the first captain who ever touched four continents, leading the first expedition that United Europe, Africa, Asia, America.
