PRESENTATION OUTLINE

THE TREASURE BOX

BY MARGARET WILD AND FRAYA BLACKWOOD

First Connection to self

The connection I have with my self is that at the moment I'm reading the book After. Writing on the end pages the books After, Then and Once by Morris Gleitzman and The Silver Donkey by Sonya Hartnett are translated into French.

First Connection to the world

My connection with the world is that at the moment there are many wars. The one in Afghanistan and the civil war in Syria are two very serious wars and many Australian troops have been sent to fight.

First Connection to another text

The connection I have with another book I've read is Parachute because in this book the boy's parachute is very precious to him and in the Treasure Box the book is also very precious.

Second connection to self

Second connection to world

Most schools or cities have public libraries. For example in Canberra we have a huge library and our school has a library as well.

Second connection to another text
Another connection I have to a text is the book Harry and Hopper. The reason I connected to this text is because the book is also by Margaret Wild and Freya Blackwood, who wrote the Treasure Box.

Third connection to self

When I was little I had a fluffy unicorn that I loved and would take everywhere. I once took it to play school! I still have my unicorn to this day. My unicorn is now missing an eye because I took her everywhere.

Third connection to world

Another connection I have to the world is that all around the world there are terrorists bombing buildings and killing innocent people.
For example in 2013 there was the Boston Marathon bombing and in 2001 there was the Twin Towers bombing in New York City.

Third connection to another text

The Silver Donkey is another book I have a connection to because it's also a book about war like The Treasure Box.

Fourth connection to self

The fourth connection I have to myself is when I was young and even now I have a favourite story called the Tortoise and the Hare. It's my favourite story because it's motto is "slow and steady wins the race."

Fourth connection to world

Sadly, my fourth connection to the world is death of a loved one as was seen in The Treasure Box. I'm very lucky to not have lost someone close to me, but I can imagine what I must be like.

Fourth connection to another text

Yoko's Dairy by Paul Ham and illustrated by Debbie Edwards is my fourth connection. I connect to this text because when the bomb was dropped the buildings and many houses were destroyed and people had to flee.
