1999 F5 TORNADO

The catastrophic event researched was the F5 tornado that hit Oklahoma in 1999.

The tornado hit Moore, OK after a series of 73 tornados in less than 21 hours! The tornado was formed by cold and warm winds (moist air) and circular rotated winds.

The tornado killed over 40 lives and more than 800 injuries. The tornado was so damaging and life threatening because it's winds were faster than 215 mph!

The tornado ripped out more than 8000 homes and was touched down on the ground for more than 3o minutes! It was longer than a mile and a half long!

BEFORE & AFTER

The animals in Oklahoma (horses, cows and farm animals) were dramatically decreased after the tornado.

Abiotic Factors Affected- Roads, Houses, Parks, and Grocery stores.
They were absolutely destroyed and demolished.

The trees were wiped out and replaced, the biodiversity did change in the F5 tornado.
