Gluten intolerance symptoms

The most common gluten intolerance symptoms are constipation, skin rashes, bloating, diarrhea, weight loss, and weight gain.

Less common symptoms:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • foul-smelling stool
  • low blood iron levels

gluten intolerance symptoms in children are even harder to distinguish since children are still developing

Misdiagnosis

Gluten intolerance symptoms are similar to Celiac disease symptoms and can lead to misdiagnosis

Symptoms of celiac:

  • diarrhea
  • abdominal pain and cramping
  • abdominal distension
  • lack of energy
  • loss of weight

Those with Celiac cannot absorb calcium and vitamin D

Sometimes they may even suffer infertility and miscarriage

Gluten intolerance symptoms can occur in people who do not have a diet of wheat every day.

When a high intake of gluten is introduced to the body, they develop intolerance

Consequences

         

Gluten intolerance and Celiac disease lead to lactose intolerance due to poor bowel movement and poor nutrition. So, lactose intolerance symptoms are also an indicator of gluten intolerance
