PRESENTATION OUTLINE

R is for Run

Guy Montag is on the run. When the fire truck pulled up to his house, he was forced to burn his own house down with a flamethrower. Then, his anger boiling, he killed captain Beatty with the same flamethrower. He is now running from police for killing Captain Beatty and having books in his possession.

S is for Suicide

When Captain Beatty was talking to Guy, he was making him very angry. Would you try to make a man mad when he is holding a flamethrower? Guy's temper snapped, and Captain Beatty was killed. After Guy did this he realized that Captain Beatty wanted to die.

T is for Train Tracks

After Guy kills Captain Beatty, he runs away to Faber's house. Faber tells him to go to the river and follow the train tracks. Following these train tracks helped him find his homeless friends who invite him in next to the fire.

U is for Unison

When Guy is on the run, he hears in his seashell radio that the city is telling everybody to open their doors in unison. When Guy hears this he is startled. He realizes that if he is in front of a house they are going to see him. As Faber told him, he is running towards the river and at the last seconds he jumps in the river and gets away from the looking eyes.

V is for Viewers

When the media figured out that Guy got away, they turned the other way. They knew that he went in the river and it would take hours to track him down. So, instead of finding Guy, they pretended to find him walking in the city. And because of all the people watching this "manhunt", they caught the random person on the street and killed him for entertainment of the viewers.

W is for War

When Guy gets away from the city, bombers come over and absolutely bombard the whole city and everyone in it. This war parallels the war inside of him, and when he gets away, both wars end. The guilt and grief of his plan and killing Captain Beatty. The war ends in the outside world because everybody in the city is dead.

X is for X-Ray

Guy has been seeing things clearly ever since Clarice told him to look at the world differently. Faber also helped him to see the world this way with burning books. He is seeing the world through society like an x-Ray sees through flesh and muscle.

Y is for Yahoos

After Guy is lost by the manhunt in the river, the tv crew see a yahoo walking along the sidewalk. They assume that he must be weird or insane if he is walking outside. The hound goes after him and then the chase is over. The viewers are pleased and the mechanical hound never lost Guy.

Z is for Zero

In Guys society, people don't think at all, zero thinking. All they do is sit in the parlor and be with their "family". Also if people don't like anything, they burn it. They don't give it any other thought, they don't care about what other people think. Before books were outlawed if you liked a book, and other people didn't, they could burn it, again, zero thought about others.
