Gary is an educational consultant, speaker, and writer near Detroit, MI. Previously, he has served as an elementary school principal, taught high school science and technology, and worked as an instructional coach for PreK-12 schools. In 2014, Gary was selected as the Michigan Teacher of the Year and has been recognized for his accomplishments by the Michigan Governor’s Office, U.S. Department of Education, and the White House. In addition to his work with schools, Gary is a member of the Board of Directors at the Meemic Foundation, co-founder of #LoveTeaching Week, and co-host of the weekly talk radio program Teachers of the Year Radio on BAM Radio Network. He has spoken at TEDxDetroit, the Michigan Governor's Education Summit, and numerous conferences around the country. He consults with educators, schools, and organizations on topics of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and technology. Gary resides near Detroit, MI with his wife and fellow educator, and their preschool daughter.
